The International Youth Health Organization and partners, from December 5 to 9, 2019 in Portoro\u017e, Slovenia, organized the first European Youth Conference on Non-Communicable Diseases within the Erasmus + program. The president of the Rhythm of Health Association, Dr. Tatjana Jezdimirovi\u0107, together with other participants, shared her experiences and expertise in the field of youth health and youth policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference aimed to bring together the youth sector and the public health sector and thus provide space for discussion about important issues of European youth work and youth policy. The conference also aimed to provide an exchange of knowledge and examples of good practice in the field of youth health, to ensure better working and living conditions for young people in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 100 young European health experts and professionals gathered in Portoro\u017e to start addressing the various needs of the sector. Some of them are: encouraging and increasing the interest of young people and youth organizations in the prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases and health policy, promoting knowledge-sharing projects in the field of youth and health, empowering participants with the necessary tools to establish a healthier environment for young people at the local, national and international levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the five days, the participants had the opportunity to attend extraordinary presentations, various workshops as well as sessions for discussion and mutual networking, which is a good starting point for further action in the field of youth policy and youth health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Jezdimirovi\u0107 made the most of her participation in this conference by exchanging experiences, presenting projects led by Rhythm of Health, getting acquainted with the programs of the European Youth Capital, as well as by inviting those present to become more actively involved in cooperation with countries in the Western Balkans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
